Instructions for Preparation of the Final One-Page Manuscript

Only electronic submissions in the form of a Postscript or a PDF file will be accepted. Most authors will prepare their papers with LaTeX. You may download the LaTeX style file, a sample LaTeX file and the corresponding Postscript and PDF files below:

isit2002.sty example.tex example.ps example.pdf

Please note that the final manuscript is limited to one page.

Users of other text processing systems should attempt to duplicate the style of this example, in particular the sizes and type of font, as closely as possible:

The allowed typing area is 17.8 cm (7 '') by 24.1 cm (9.5 '').
The left margin should be 1.6 cm for A4 paper and 0.63 '' for 8.5'' by 11'' paper (US Letter).
The top margin should be 2.8 cm for A4 paper and 0.34 '' for 8.5'' by 11'' paper.
(The page will be slightly magnified before printing.)

The style of references, equations, figures, tables, etc., should be the same as for the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory.

The affiliation shown for authors should constitute a sufficient mailing address for persons who wish to write for more details about the paper.

How to Send the Manuscript

Manuscripts in the form of a Postscript or PDF file must be uploaded directly to our database. Please follow the the upload manuscript link, which is also available in the menu sidebar. Please note that the upload page also allows you to change your paper title if necessary, and to download a copyright form which has been filled in by our database.

IEEE Copyright Form

For each paper, a completed IEEE Copyright Transfer and Export Control Compliance Form (formerly IEEE Copyright Form) must also be submitted. Your should use the form generated by us, as it will already include your paper number and your paper title and authorlist. The filled-out form is available in two locations:

  • When you upload your manuscript (where you also have the option of changing the paper title).
  • As a link from the sidebar menu.

The original form can also be found at http://www.ieee.org/about/documentation/copyright/cfrmlink.htm.

The completed, signed and dated copyright form should be sent by fax or by mail to:

  Mrs. B. Roeoesli
ISI (ETF E102) / ETH Zentrum
  CH-8092 Zurich, Switzerland
  Phone: + 41 1 632 2764
  Fax: + 41 1 632 1208

Please make sure that the paper number is clearly indicated on the copyright form if you are using the original form from the IEEE. (Do not send papers to this address.)
